In case you missed my first blog, I got the Holland America World Cruise Distinctive Voyages Hosting Assignment, again – for the SEVENTH time
And, at this point, it’s a pretty good bargain. You can have a Lanai cabin for under $65K USD ($88CAD) or a slightly obstructed Oceanview for less than $35K USD ($49K CAD). Yes, the whole cabin, the whole cruise, four and a half months at sea, January to April, 53 ports in 28 countries, great food, pleasant lodging and live entertainment every night, not to mention a whole bunch of cruise buddies I have accumulated over the six previous Grand Worlds I have taken, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2023, 2026.
This, here, is the Whole World: 129-DAY GRAND WORLD VOYAGE Cruise Itinerary | Holland America

I love the lanai cabins. They are regular cabins, with a patio door out to the Promenade Deck, and two private deck chairs, which are all yours. I like it better than a regular balcony. It’s immense, wraps all the way around the ship and friends stop by to chat, while doing their laps. The cheaper than regular oceanview cabins are fore and aft of them, so your window looks at the ocean, past a passing passenger. Regular verandahs, oceanviews and suites also available.
And there are segments: Fort Lauderdale to Sydney – 35 days starts at $US8K, ($11KCAD) inside cabin, PPDO and not so much more for the oceanview on deck 3, that I like.

And on to Sydney to Singapore, 18 days, with 4 days in Indonesia, including an overnight in Bali starts at $US4200 ($CAD6K)

There’s lots of interesting stuff in this 40 day leg but, unless you have a lot of points saved up, you’ll be looking at as much in airfare, if you like your 24 hour flights with flat beds. I recommend cruising instead.
Sydney to Cape Town – 40 days: $US 9K ($CAD 12.5K) ppdo, Inside

Cape Town to FLL is 54 days, and includes more European ports than usual, for $US12K ($CAD 16.5K)

And there’s also Cape Town to Rotterdam and Rotterdam to Fort Lauderdale, and you can call me if any of those interest you.
To all of you who have been saying, “One of these days I am going to join you on that world cruise, Helen” – What are you waiting for? (Serious question. How long do you think I am going to keep doing this?) Lanai cabin for under $65K USD ($88CAD) or a slightly obstructed Oceanview for less than $35K USD ($49K CAD). The whole cabin, the whole cruise, four and a half months!

I have two friends coming already. It’s a party. And I’ll have parties, and speakers, and free shore excursions for you. It’s time.
